Exclusively in The Tribune Newspaper on Mondays

And so it begins…

The idea to start 'The KDK Report' initiated after several patients enquired if the injury they sustained, or the medical condition that they were recently diagnosed with, was as bad, the same or better than x, y, z - In 100% of the cases x, y, z represented either a celebrity, politician, professional athlete or their closest friends and neighbors.

I soon realized that being able to personify or put a face on a medical condition inherently resonates with many people. Then with help from my close friend and editor Diane Phillips, The Tribune signed on as a publisher and the rest is history.

I started interviewing my patients about their medical conditions, the treatments employed and their experiences during that time. In cases where they don't have any illnesses, or haven't experienced any injuries, the interview focuses on how they coped with loved ones who were sick or what they themselves do to stay healthy.

The advice that patients impart should never supplement the advice from your own medical professional - but it should elucidate the impact of various health concerns, inculcate that no one is immune to illness and also provide hope that with early and proper treatment, good outcomes are often attained. It should also remind each and every one of us that every human being has a story to be told.

So sit back, enjoy, comment & share as I prepare to bring you The KDK Report - appearing exclusively here online and in The Tribune, the first Monday of every month.

The Tribune

With a circulation ranging between 7,000 to 10,000 daily, The Tribune Newspaper is The Bahamas’ most trusted and leading news source.

Publication commenced in 1919 making it the oldest and most respected newspaper in the country covering Nassau, Freeport, Family Island news, sports and business events.

Sir Alfred Etienne Dupuch was the editor of The Tribune from 1919 to 1972 and he was named the longest serving newspaper editor by Guinness Book of World Records.

I am deeply honored to have a column in this illustrious publication that has so richly added to the fabric of our lives and has indubitably enhanced the cultural tapestry of The Commonwealth of The Bahamas.
